Active power decoupling control equipped with model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is an effective method to solve the second order ripple power in single-phase grid-tied inverters of photovoltaic systems. However, the existing MPC is mostly applied to the current loop control. Although it can effectively improve the performance of the internal current loop, the control effect is affected by the current reference generation. Therefore, in this paper, an active power decoupling control based on DC input voltage continuous control set MPC (CCS-MPC) is proposed for a new single-phase PV inverter. It eliminates subsequent current control loop and combines the advantage of CCS-MPC with automatic power decoupling. The simulation and experimental results show the proposed method has advantages of fixed switching frequency, simple control, fast dynamic response, and excellent performance of power decoupling.
