To simplify the fabrication process of flexible and micro-size rechargeable batteries, the use of thin-printed carbon layers without anode or cathode for electrolytic batteries was demonstrated here. Batteries with ZnCl 2 /MnCl 2 electrolytes showed much better performance than ZnSO 4 /MnSO 4 cases. The effects of electro-depositing each electrode and the components of electrolytes were investigated. The anions of electrolytes and the efficiency of electro-depositing cathodes are the key factors in our battery system.
