A miniaturization ultra-wideband (UWB) planar fractal antenna with dual notched band is presented in this letter. The proposed antenna is printed on a FR4 substrate and fed by 50-Ω microstrip line. By embedding a novel Y-shaped metal branch and introducing a modified U-slot, the dual band-notched performances are obtained. The results of the simulation illustrate that the antenna has an bandwidth of 2.7~11.2 GHz for VSWR ≤ 2.0, and the dual notched band are 3.3~3.7 GHz for WiMAX band and 5.1~5.9 GHz for WLAN band respectively. The dimension of the designed antenna is 24 × 35 × 1.3mm 3 . Moreover, the proposed antenna exhibits good omnidirectional radiation and stable gain, while the antenna efficiency is above 80%, which can be used in UWB wireless communication application.
