Multi-beam high-throughput satellite is a communication satellite which uses advanced technologies such as frequency multiplexing and multi-beam coverage to achieve a capacity tens of times higher than conventional communication satellites. In recent years, the market for high-throughput satellite applications has become more and more extensive. Internet applications, aircraft, maritime communications and so on all have heavy demand. Compare with the traditional microwave link technology, the microwave photonic link as the key technology of the next generation of VHTS communication satellites with a communication capacity of more than 100Gps, shows great advantages of lightweight and flexibility. In this paper, a HTS satellite payload link system combined with microwave photons is proposed. The technical characteristics of the scheme are introduced and analyzed, and the effectiveness of microwave photon technology applied to high-throughput communication satellites is verified.
