A dual-band circularly polarized microstrip antenna is proposed to realize the reception of multi-band navigation signals by satellite navigation system terminals. The proposed antenna adopts a double-layer structure to achieve dual-band. The top layer adopts a crown-like fractal structure and the bottom one is a rectangular patch. The top and bottom are fed simultaneously by a single coaxial probe to achieve circular polarization. The proposed antenna can work in the B1 (1.561 GHz) and B3 (1.268 GHz) bands of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) and the L1 (1.575 GHz) band of the Global Positioning System (GPS) with right-handed circular polarization (RHCP). The proposed antenna has a low profile and compact structure, and can be applied as the terminal antenna of a satellite navigation system.
