This article presents a novel power electronics for contactless inductive energy transfer systems. Basis of the work is an auto-resonant power oscillator, a commonly called royer converter, which is extended to withstand high input voltages. This article starts with a detailed explanation of the converter itself and its advantages. Furthermore, different possibilities for a high input voltage compatibility are presented. Additionally, the energy transfer system is designed and calculated analytically. To evaluate the novel power electronics one of the possibilities is set up and some measurements are presented to show the satisfactory result.
