Digital images are widely utilized for sharing various details, including images and videos, across different devices. However, it is crucial to protect these images as they may contain users' personal information, which could be accessed by attackers through eavesdropping. Therefore, it is necessary to employ robust encryption methods to counter such attacks. This research study utilizes the well-known 2DLSCM algorithm to encrypt images using chaos. Additionally, the encryption scheme is enhanced by incorporating pixel scrambling and confusion techniques. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, different color and black-and-white images are collected with varying dimensions. Then, this study performs a runtime analysis and security evaluation, comparing the proposed method to existing encryption schemes. The proposed security analysis includes differential attack analysis, Shannon entropy, and histogram analysis. These collective measures ensure a high level of encryption security for the image data.
