The near field of two typical cassegrain dual-reflector antennas which are extensively used in the aerospace field, is simulated by using the software FEKO. The electrical field strength and the equivalent near-field gain in the Fresnel region are obtained. On this basis, this paper presents a rapid estimation method of equivalent near-field gain which merely uses the far-field radiation pattern. This method can be used for rapid estimation of microwave radiation safety and analysis of electromagnetic compatibility.
