This paper presents the design of a 1-bit folded transmitarray based on the wideband magneto-electric (ME) dipole elements. The proposed folded transmitarray is composed of a polarization selective transmitting surface and a polarization rotation (PR) surface. The electromagnetic wave radiated from the feed is reflected twice between the transmitting surface and the PR surface so that the profile of the proposed transmitarray is reduced to one-third of the traditional transmitarray. The simulated results of the proposed folded transmitarray show a 3-dB bandwidth of 22.8% (9.3-11.7 GHz) and a peak aperture efficiency of 15.3% at 10.1 GHz.
