Companies are increasingly opting for collaborative applications and technologies suits for more complex business purposes. This paper presents a conceptual tool suite that plans to address the impact of collaborative knowledge based systems at organization level. This is achieved by identifying key parameters and variables that influence the impact and then to map them to drivers, which can employ the ultimate benefits in adopting knowledge supporting technologies within organizations. The fundamentals of the Tool is based on the fifth pillar of the “Enterprise Value Estimation for Knowledge-based Systems” framework [1][2]. While the first four pillars investigate the intrinsic value of collaborative knowledge based systems, the approach presented here targets the extrinsic value. The goal of this tool, “Organisational Impact Evaluation Tool”, is to provide easy-of-use means to measure and quantify the impact of collaborative knowledge-based systems within organizations. Such an impact is evaluated in terms of quantitative impact assessment measures on one hand and on the other cost and benefit based fixed criteria.
