We investigate cycle slip effects of monolithic tunable lasers in a 10.7 Gbaud QPSK system employing feedback or feed-forward phase tracking algorithms. Experimental results demonstrate an increased probability of cycle slip due to low frequency noise in SGDBR lasers.
