Electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbers are frequently used in various places to remove undesired EM waves. Recently, the use of materials as EM wave absorbers has been reported. In this study, the authors evaluated the reflection characteristics of proposed metamaterial EM wave absorbers composed of a periodically metallic pattern arrangement structure and a dielectric material. Next, the relative permittivity and relative permeability characteristics of proposed metamaterial EM wave absorbers considered by using the S-parameter method.
