This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the effect of inter-turns short circuits in PMSMs with the Direct Flux Control (DFC) technique. The effect of a fault is modelled as an additive term with respect to the healthy condition. The proposed sensitivity analysis allows to separate of the effect of the short-circuit from the healthy terms of the DFC measurements vector. Different fault scenarios have been investigated and the influence on the measurement signals has been evaluated through simulations.
