Big data is affecting practically every part of our lives whether it's for political campaigns, retail purchases, surveying telescopic information, or recommendation algorithms. The goal of this study is to give a broad review of recent breakthroughs in big data in biomedical and health informatics. Recent developments in big data are projected to expand our knowledge by revealing illness causes and consequences, identifying better drug targets for precision medicine, and testing novel theories regarding disease prevention from diagnosis to inhibition to tailored treatment. This paper examines the main aspects of big data, some of the current and prospective opportunities in the field of big data for healthcare.
