The design and performance of different all metal phased array antennas operating over the 10 to 40 GHz frequency band are discussed. Wide E and H plane scanning characteristics of 8 by 8 single and dual polarized all metal connected Vivaldi arrays are discussed first. A limited beam steering operation thereof in the diagonal plane (D plane) due to increased cross polarization level is revisited. Then, a novel dual polarized, all metal, transverse electromagnetic (TEM) horn array with improved D plane operation is proposed. The designed 8 by 8 array operates over more than 3 to 1 bandwidth with decent impedance match and cross polarization discrimination (XPD) greater than 15 dB while scanning up to 50 degrees in all planes.
