This paper presents an electrically small low-profile chip antenna. The size of the antenna is 0.12 $\times 0.06\times 0.03\lambda_{0}^{3}$, and the antenna can be installed on a ground plane without a dedicated clearance area. The antenna operates at 3.6 GHz for IoT applications and is designed to be installed in size-limited devices. The antenna has been fabricated with LTCC technology and experimental results are also presented in good agreement with the simulated ones. Results show 1% impedance bandwidth and a total efficiency of −5.1 dB when the antenna is installed in an infinite ground plane.
