This paper proposes a new control method for BLDC motors using sensorless trapezoidal control capable of regenerative braking, designed to be used on low-power and moderate computational power microcontrollers. It exhibits good performance on systems where the load does not have abrupt changes over time and the requirements for efficiency are not very demanding. Trapezoidal control targets mainly sub-kilowatt systems. Due to increased power dissipation, going beyond this figure is not feasible.
