We report on progress in realization of packaged RF photonic oscillators based on Kerr optical frequency comb generated in ultra-high Q crystalline whispering gallery mode resonators. Various regimes of operation of the oscillators and possible ways of their stabilization are reviewed. Properties and specifications of a turn-key oscillator prototype created at OEwaves are discussed. New regimes for optical comb generation are also investigated.
