In this paper, we investigate the application of using software defined radio (SDR) and surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices for wireless measurement of the response of in-situ sensors. In the proposed system, SDR collects magnitude and phase of the reflected waves from a SAW device connected to a sensor. The spectral-domain data is then converted to time-domain to extract the sensor responses. By comparing the results obtained from SDR with those obtained from a commercial vector network analyzer (VNA), we show the accuracy of the proposed technique.
