A time-efficient method is described for designing metamaterial transmission lines (TL) with a required phase shift over a given frequency band with rigorous phase accuracy. This time-efficient method is proposed to make possible industrial application of Composite Right/Left-Handed (CRLH) TL phase shifter for phase compensation solution. A theoretical model is developed by the use of the TL model and of its Bloch phase and impedance. The extraction method of the technological parameters from this model is also explained. To illustrate this method, two CRLH TLs are presented and compared to a conventional phase shifter transmission line.
