This contribution describes the energy upgrade to 71 MeV of the TOP-IMPLART linear accelerator of ENEA Frascati Research Centre, its final layout with a foreseen maximum available proton energy of 110 MeV and an active scanning delivery system. While the accelerator is specifically designed for radiotherapy, it has already been applied as a radiation source for different applications, including characterization of electronic components radiation tolerance. Once fully commissioned, the TOP-IMPLART accelerator will constitute a significant addition to ENEA portfolio of already available radiation facilities (gamma and X rays, neutrons, electrons).
