A real time system is proposed in which an Android application is developed to monitor the patient's vital signs like SpO2, ECG, NIBP, Heart Rate, Temperature and Respiration Rate and send them to the doctor wirelessly. The patient monitoring device is interfaced with the application via Bluetooth Low Energy. The parameters are acquired, processed and displayed in the application and then sent to the server in real time using high level of compression and advanced file transfer protocol. SQLite database is maintained in the phone to store multiple patients' information. The doctor can access the data remotely. In case of abnormal values a notification pops up in the application. Also, the doctor and relatives can be notified via Email and SMS in emergency situations. The tested results showed that there is only a few seconds delay between data acquisition and their upload over the server.
