Disorderly charging of large-scale electric vehicles will affect the economic and safety operation of power grid. An orderly charging control strategy based on optimal power dispatch is proposed for the coordination of charging demand of electric vehicle and safety operation of power grid in this paper. The strategy comprehensively considers the charging demand, resident load level and the peak-valley different of the day’s load. The objective function of the proposed method is to minimum the peak-valley load of distribution network, and shifting the demand charging of electric vehicle from the peak period of power consumption to the power valley period and improve the charging effective of electric vehicles. Finally, an example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method applied in the orderly charging of large-scale electric vehicles.
