The development of electric vehicles (EVs) has caught the attention of automotive companies, policy-making bodies, and consequently researchers due to growing environmental concerns. However, focusing only on EVs is insufficient because the deployment of these vehicles depends on Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS). The installation of these EVCS creates a number of challenges because these vehicles are electric. Load forecasting and Grid overloading are the earlier key issues, and charging times and traffic-crowd management are the latter. The Indian government is focusing on the deployment of EVs and the building of EVCS to prioritise the establishment of eco-friendly habitats. The government has decreased tariffs on EVs and introduced incentives to encourage the establishment of EVCS to meet its aim of reducing carbon emissions from the transportation sector. In order to install a EVCS there, this article outlines several standard organizations issued by the Government of India. Electric car manufacturer on a big scale is being hindered by the lack of consistency in commercial setup and charging technology. The authors have compiled technological and business issues in the EVCS set up in the current article to address the same. In this article, the discussion on various types of EVCS, cutting-edge technological advancements, complex battery charging methodologies, and rigid industry standards has become the forge in which the future of sustainable transportation is being forged in the dynamic world of electric mobility.
