Glucose and phenol as culture medium were respectively simulated multiple and industrial wastewater for culture of microbial cell,for which its kinetics could be described by Monod model.The microorganism growth was obviously inhibited once pyridine was put into the solution of glucose and pyridine and then their kinetics showed Aiba model.Correspondingly,their maximum specific growth rates (μmax) were respectively decreased by 34% and 25%.When the pyridine was photo-catalyzed before addition of the solution,the kinetics of microorganism growth were again Monod model,during which the maximum specific growth rates (μmax) reached at 81% for glucose,and especially the maximum specific growth rates (μmax) were higher by 38% for the phenol as the medium,compared with the pyridine without photocatalysis.
