The role of technology in the fight against COVID-19 has been truly tremendous. Intelligent computing, complemented by the adoption of technology, has been the key to minimizing the pandemic’s rippling effect by manifolds. At a time when the pandemic has affected millions of lives, it is essential for human kind to keep investing in technologies such as IoT, drones, etc. to combat the newer strains and the future pandemics. IoT has helped in the creation of smart frameworks and intelligent systems to respond to the ever-increasing COVID-19 cases in a much better way, whereas drones gave critical stakeholders an advantage over time and management constraints. During COVID-19, certain countries utilized drone services for disinfection, increased testing rates, speedy medical deliveries, etc. This chapter aims to discuss the role of IoT and drones to tackle COVID-19, from a global perspective. It highlights various use cases of leveraging drones and IoT in tackling COVID-19 effectively. An insight into this chapter will help tackle future pandemics or epidemics in a much convenient way.
