胡祗遹的诗论中并没有对诗歌艺术的精微探讨,仅立足于功用、政教,虽取镕经意,却缺乏自铸伟辞的独得新见,从诗学发展的角度来看,其价值确属有限。但是如果从文化方面加以观照则会发现,其基于理学起点的诗歌理论中反映了元初理学在北方传播的状貌,也折射出当时文统与道统合而为一的思想趋势;其有关诗之功用的论述则体现了他为民族先进文化在交融中保持继续传承而做出的自觉努力。在元代,类似胡祗遹这样的情况并不鲜见,因此,这种文化视角的观照具有一定的认识价值和普遍意义,而这恰是容易被仅关注诗学本身的研究者所忽视的。
Hu Zhiyu did not explore the art of poetry in his poetics but the functions ,penalty and civi‐lized intercourse of poetry .Although he was erudite and informed with this ,his poetics were still lack of self -cast new ideas w hich makes the value of the poetics limited from the angle of poetics development . However ,when researching from the angle of culture ,his poetics based on the Neo -Confucianism reflec‐ted the situation of the development of Neo -Confucianism in the early Yuan Dynasty and also the trend of the unification of thought specification and art specification .His argument on the functions of poetry re‐flected the effort he paid in keeping the advanced national cultural heritage in cultural fusion .In the Yuan Dynasty ,it’s easy to find situations which are similar to Hu .Therefore ,this contemplation from the cul‐tural perspective is of value and universal significance ,w hich is likely to be overlooked by researchers w ho only concerns on the study of poetry itself .
