The presented results deal with scientific, experimental and technical aspects of the development of a novel fiber spinning technology for polyacrylonitrile (PAN) dissolved in ionic liquids.Beside procedural investigations covering the variation of fiber forming conditions in spinneret, in coagulation baths and in different after-stretching steps, the complex influence of parameters on fiber properties in gel as well as dried state is in the main focus.In this way, individual fiber tenacities of more than 75 cN/tex and elongation values of 8%-15% have been obtained.
