Though being a young category of cultural heritage, industrial heritage are essential carriers of cultural, historical, architectural and many other values from the age of industrialisation. The conservation of industrial heritage plays a pivotal role in preserving cultural and historical identity of a territory, reflecting its economic and social development. The adaptive reuse of such heritage sites is gaining prominence, necessitating the application of advanced technologies like Building Information Modelling(BIM)to ensure effective intervention.Despite the increasing adoption of BIM in heritage conservation, challenges persist, particularly in achieving precision in geometric shapes. This precision is crucial for the accuracy of Heritage Building Information Modelling(HBIM)and is a key concern for researchers, academics, and professionals engaged in conservation projects. This study aims to evaluate the precision of HBIM models, focusing on geometric accuracy in the context of industrial heritage conservation. The research centers on a case study of the Palma del Condado railway station in Spain, aiming to provide insights into the challenges associated with BIM applications in heritage interventions. The methodology employed involves a Scan to BIM approach, utilizing the Cyclone Register 360 software.La Palma del Condado railway station's geometry is obtained through Ter-restial Laser Scanning(TLS)and photogrammetric survey employing unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV);gathered data is later used for parametric modelling and semantic categorisation, resulting in a BIM model containing 1491 elements.A comparative analysis is con-ducted between the information model in the form of IFC model and the point cloud obtained using a personal laser scanner(PSL). The results of the study revealed variations between the BIM model and the point cloud derived from the PSL.However, the precision of the information model supported by a high number of semantic segments or elements installed appropriately(greater than 90%)is considered acceptable to the Level of Development(LOD)established for the modelling. The findings of this research have important implications for the field of industrial heritage conservation.Through thorough analysis and precise geometric techniques,a comprehensive, updated planimetry of the historic building is provided. This facilitates virtual monitoring, detection of structural issues, and the creation of a faithful 3D model, supporting maintenance, future interven-tions,cultural dissemination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
