The main purpose of grid-side converter control in Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is to maintain the constant DC link voltage and the unity power factor, while the traditional PI controller has poor dynamic performance and robustness. In order to overcome the shortcomings of PI controller, a fuzzy PI control strategy is presented in this paper. The fuzzy controller is used to adjust the parameters of the PI controller, and then the optimized parameters are applied to the voltage outer loop and current inner loop controller. System performances were analyzed and compared under MATLAB/Simulink environment. The simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy PI control strategy has faster response speed than PI controller, especially when the external parameters change, it has good robustness and anti-interference performance.
