The risk assessment model of radioactive material release for transport accident is discussed in this paper. Based on the statistical data of transport accident and the classification of the accident severity, the quantitative assessment method of radioactive materials release rate in transport accidents is developed. Then, the consequence of the radioactive material release accident is predicted by Gauss Model atmospheric dispersion for fire accident especially. Eventually, one example is implemented with the method and the statistical accident data. The results show that the assessment method could obtain a preliminary quantitative estimate for radioactive material release accident in transport.
