A prototype reusable smoker and wood smoking chips were developed using unused parts of woods and fallen branches which harvested in Mie University Forest. Ingredients were sufficiently smoked and the smoker looked reusable enough to be used several times. However, the smoker is 4 to 13 times larger and 2 to 27 times heavier than commercially available smokers, so we plan to try to make it smaller. The taste of the smoked food using wood chips was not satisfactory this time. We would like to consider a more suitable smoking method.
