The nonstationary disturbance analysis is considered. A new method for fast and accurate detection, extraction and estimation of disturbances is presented. The method is characterized by its ability to analyze disturbances of different durations (less or also more than one cycle). Applications to case study signals together with field measurements show the accuracy of the method for a wide range of disturbances. A comparison with a wavelet transform based method is reported too.
