With starting point in cognitive linguistics, cognitive poetics and theories of linguistic picture of the world, the thesis will be focused on creation of conceptual opposition LIFE - DEATH in poetry of Jiří Karásek ze Lvovic. This conceptual opposition is substantially constituted on the basis of the semantic field of senses and sensory perceptions. This thesis contains this area too. The first part of the thesis will be concentrated on conceptualisation of senses and opposition LIFE - DEATH in Czech linguistic picture of the world. The second part will be focused on poetry of Jiří Karásek ze Lvovic. The author of the thesis will analyse specific metaphorical and metonymical extension associated with the target area LIFE and DEATH, and the sensory perception (including colors). Then the author will focus on the text connotations associated with the terms of the semantic fields (those with regard to prove opposition LIFE - DEATH).
