The concept of air medical services itself covers the use of air transport, aircraft or helicopters, to move patients to and from health care institutions, and from the site of accidents. Indications indicating whether or not the evacuation of the helicopter emergency service is essential can be of great importance and save or take lives for the infected. The formation of the helicopter emergency service dates back to 1738. During the progress of mankind and industry development, helicopter medical services were simultaneously trained. So from military service and helicopters to civilian. While Croatia began its history in 1991 during the war. The Helicopter Medical Service is organized in various ways, so we have a helicopter service managed by the authorities, multipurpose, intention for the service of the helicopter service, money donated by foreign companies and public donations. A helicopter used for the helicopter medical service must comply with certain standards and accreditations in order to obtain a licences to operate. The interior itself of the helicopter must be adequately equipped to perform its basic task. When we talk to the staff, it must be on the highest possible level, trained highly educated professionals. The staff usually consists of pilots, doctors and nurses. The nurses in the helicopter are expected to receive a great deal of education, accreditation and certificates depending on the country in which they work. The nurse is one of the key persons because she assists both the pilot and the doctor, and if there is no doctor, she performs her duties independently. In Croatia, in 2014 the pilot project of the helicopter medical service started and everything started from there.
