A wideband circularly polarized inverted Cshaped monopole having broad axial ratio (AR) bandwidth is proposed in this work. An inverted C-shaped radiator fed by asymmetric CPW feed integrated with a hook-shaped slot is used for broadening the impedance bandwidth and generating elliptical polarization in a wide bandwidth. A stub in the ground plane and a parasitic radiator on the reverse side of the CPW fed antenna are added to fine tune the circular polarization characteristics. The proposed work exhibits measured VSWR bandwidth of 119.4% (2.63 - 10.44 GHz). The overall antenna size is 0.76 λ 0 x 0.76 λ 0 x 0.033 λ 0 . A 1.86 dBi peak gain is obtained within the AR bandwidth. The antenna exhibits a broad measured 3 dB ARBW of 22.22% in the frequency band 5.2 GHz - 6.5 GHz. The antenna covers the entire Wimax/ WLAN band and C-band uplink band within the axial ratio bandwidth.
