Due to anisotropy of grain oriented silicon steel, magnetic permeability along various directions cannot be determined only by that of rolling and transverse direction. A novel method for describing anisotropy of magnetic permeability is proposed in this paper by incorporating multi-direction magnetization curves, which is closer to reality compared to material model provided by present commercial finite element method (FEM) software. Furthermore we have discussed the choice of magnetization curve for static magnetic field problem, elaborated measurement method of 2D magnetic property. In order to apply measurement data in computing static electromagnetic problem, FEM equation considering 2D magnetic property is deduced. At last, based on FEM software developed by ourselves, magnetic field of a non-gap inductor is analyzed, distinction of flux distribution for various material model indicates that fine material model is of great importance to precise analysis of magnetic field.
