Recently in Japan, there has been large-scale introduction of photovoltaics (PVs). This development increases the likelihood of system voltage fluctuations, which can be prevented by employing PV output prediction. This paper focuses on applying PV output prediction to system operation in order to achieve system voltage control. Grey theory is applied to achieve minutes-ahead prediction of PV outputs in cases of severe PV output fluctuation. Minutes-ahead system voltages are estimated and controlled in advance using transformer taps and static capacitors. In addition, voltage control based on game theory is proposed in order to achieve cooperative control. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by running simulations using the modified IEEE 30 Bus System.
