Introduction: Missed nursing care is defined as care that is delayed, partially completed, or not completed at all. COVID-19 pandemic creates a scenario in which all the factors causing missed care may be presented. Objective: This scoping review aims to systematically examine the research done in missed nursing care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inclusion criteria: We will select research studies that examine missed nursing care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Studies carried out in all healthcare settings will be included. Methods: We will use the following databases and information sources to identify reports on the topic: (1) key international general healthcare databases, MEDLINE (via PubMed) and Scopus; (2) subject-specific databases, CINAHL (via EBSCO), (3) national and regional databases; (4) dissertations and theses databases, (5) a grey literature database, (6) a search engine, and (7) study registers. Studies in any language since 1 November 2019 will be included when the first cases of COVID-19 appeared. Two independent reviewers will conduct study selection and data extraction. Any disagreements that arise between the reviewers at each of these stages will be resolved through discussion or with an additional reviewer. Data will be presented graphically or in diagrammatic or tabular form. A narrative summary will accompany the tabulated results.
