The title of our research study is “Against Empathy Bias; The Moral Value of Equitable Empathy”, and it is an exact replication study that was done by Zoe Fowler, Kyle Fiore Law, and Brendan Gaesser. The original study did two different studies and our team will be replicating study 2. We are gathering data to evaluate how moral it is to have varying levels of empathy towards the people we feel closest to and those we have little connection with. Our team will use participants from our college campus. We are reading through the original to create the design of our replication study. We are creating a survey using Qualtrics that will provide a randomization of six vignettes and a series of questions to answer. The survey will be open for participants to take, and the data collection will begin. The survey will provide us with data that we will enter a JASP program and use a Bonferroni post hoc test, and other statistical analyses to summarize the data.
