Since January 2020 we have been conducting a large global survey exploring attitudes and experiences towards touch in collaboration with the BBC and Wellcome Collection. As part of the survey we have included additional measures of well-being, loneliness, personality, and interoception. The survey closed on March 30th 2020 owing to restrictions linked to our partners at the BBC and Wellcome Collection. During this period a global pandemic has been declared in relation to Covid-19, including a number of countries providing self-isolation guidelines. In this set of studies we will access data from our survey to explore how escalating concern over Covid-19 relates to well-being and loneliness at the population level and how attitudes to touch interact with this, in neurotypical participants and participants with self-reported Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This will be done using cross-sectional analyses as each participant only completed the survey at one time point.
