To clarify the above conflictions, an experiment was designed to understand heterogeneous nucleation behavior of liquid aluminum on single crystal MgO substrates with different crystallographic orientation. The effect of lattice misfit on undercooling and wetting behavior of liquid Al were investigated and interface structure was examined closely. The misfit impact on heterogeneous nucleation was subsequently discussed based on experimental results. 2. Experimental
