A model to synthesize stellar variability induced by solar-like magnetic activity is presented. It is based on the model introduced by Lanza et al. (2003) and Lanza, Rodono & Pagano (2004) to fit the time variations of the solar bolometric and spectral irradiances. The model parameters are scaled in the case of solar-like stars in order to provide light curve amplitudes comparable with those observed for active stars with rotation periods ≤10 days. Simultaneous light curves in different optical passbands can be synthesized with the model in order to test, e.g., the methods that were recently proposed to detect planetary transit signatures in multiband photometric observations by space-borne telescopes.
