In recent work from our lab, we explored teasing in the workplace to better understand teasing within an organizational context. We find that the delineation between roles in a teasing event (teaser, teasee) produces a gap between how teasers and teasees perceive and evaluate a tease, and that the differences between teaser and teasees’ evaluations seems to be driven by the reaction of the teasee. In this work, we will further explore this phenomenon to determine the conditions under which differences in perceptions between teasers and teasees emerge in teasing interactions.
