Despite the availability of several mechanical and chemical methods for aflatoxin detection, most are not accessible to many developing countries. In these developing countries, immunochromatographic test strips can be an alternative. Research was conducted to assess the sensitivity and accuracy of immunochromatographic test strips in the qualitative detection of aflatoxin at a 20 ppb cut-off limit as compared to the standard fluorometry method, and to evaluate the effect of continuous high or fluctuating temperatures to the sensitivity and accuracy of the test strips.
