International audience; Architectural analysis of root system was performed in 10 paired toppled/undamaged Pinus pinaster saplings in a planted and a seeded plot 2 years after a storm. Variability of architecture is much higher in planted trees. Windthrow damage could not be attributed to a deficient root architecture.
