Phytochemical analysis of the root bark of Newbouldia laevis revealed the presence of four pyrazole alkaloids. These were characterized using various spectroscopic data as withasomnine, and the novel 4′-hydroxy-withasomnine, newbouldine and 4′-hydroxynewbouldine.
