This article discusses findings of a study, which examined the relationship between oral contraceptive (OC) use before breast cancer diagnosis and survival. Based on the findings of the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth, the use of OC was the leading method of contraception in the U.S. One hypothesis is that current or recent OC use and use of higher dose and potency pills have been linked with higher breast cancer incidence.
