The article reports on the challenges that hospitals face when attempting to make sure that each patient is charged comprehensively and compliantly for all services rendered and all supplies and pharmaceuticals that are used. A discussion of several charge capture processes that are used by hospitals, including centralized charge capture, decentralized charge capture and charge posting and reconciliation, is presented.
