The author relates his trip to Turkey with other botanists to botanize and collect limited numbers of bulbous plants as herbarium specimen for Nezahat Gokyigit Botanic Gardens (NGBG). The plants in the Wild Garden part of NGBG include Iris, Serapias and Muscari. He and the group headed to a site known for the growth of new Iris species in Yusufeli. He states that he was surprised to see Corydalis growing in shallow-moving water as he has only cultivated it in pots in dry condition.
